  18. I've managed to build a C-Kermit for my VMS 5.5 system using the
  19. 'hexified'
  20. version of C-Kermit from Columbia.

  22. I am now trying to ship some VMS savesets (actually VMSINSTAL files
  23. for CMU's TCP/IP) from my Win98 box to the VMS system. I have
  24. MS-Kermit version 3.mumble on the Win98 side.

  26. I am aware of the goofy record size requirements and have set the
  27. receiving C-Kermit on the Vax side to an appropriate value, but when I
  28. try to SEND from the
  29. Win98 box it immediately gets errors, retries its little heart out and
  30. gives up.

  32. I suspect there is a basic mismatch between the Kermits. Is there a
  33. specific helpfile somewhere to help me get C-Kermit and MS-Kermit
  34. talking to each other
  35. properly?

  37. Also: Can I avoid the record size stuff by WinZIPing the 4 savesets on
  38. the Win98 side, sending the entrie zipfile as a binary to the VMS
  39. system and then unzipping it?
